Maserati’s Quattroporte Gets A Brand New Update

The Quattroporte is Maserati’s flagship sedan, and last year’s model was in need of some changes. Maserati has finally made some updates to the model, making it more applicable to the 21st century.

It is beautiful and sleek, but the most interesting changes are more functional than aesthetic. The new Quattroporte has a new infotainment system, as well as a suite of active safety features.

You may be wondering what was wrong with last year’s model that made this update so crucial? While the 2015 Quattroporte S Q4 performed well, hitting 60 mph in less than five seconds, it wasn’t ideal for high traffic. The navi system’s maps were difficult to interpret and sometimes incorrect. The infotainment system was frustrating to use. The 2015 model was also insufficient in the way of safety. It did not have safety features like lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring. These features were offered on cars one-third of its price.

You can expect these safety issues in some sports cars, but not a flagship sedan like the Quattroporte. The Quattroporte competes with models like the Mercedes S-Class, the Audi A8, and the BMW 7 Series. All three of these models offer better amenities. Buyers may like the style and performance of an Italian luxury car, but they’re also looking for the best of modern automotive technology. With a starting price of $106,900 and subpar technology, the Quattroporte clearly needed an update.

Maserati was smart to add a number of safety features to the Quattroporte. Among these features are lane departure and forward collision warning, automatic braking, a surround view camera, and adaptive cruise control. These features make driving the Quattroporte safer and easier. The infotainment system, which is built around an 8.4-inch touchscreen, is just as impressive. It runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will be much easier to use than the infotainment system in the previous model.

Maserati has worked hard to give the drivers and passengers of the Quattroporte a safer and more enjoyable experience.
